Russell is exploding with vocabulary lately. Just this week he has said "grandma," "shoes", "nose'" and "poop." Poop has some had motions to go with it, he usually tugs at his diaper and today even brought out wipes when he had a dirty diaper. Laura has put him on the toilet a time or two before bath time, he sits and grins and that is it. Joe got down Elise's training potty and sat Russell on it- Houston we have a problem. Russell sits down and the hole to go potty in is not positioned properly for a boy, let's just say his equipment and the bowl don't line up. We'd have puddles every time if we used that thing!! Get either a bigger potty seat or a toilet seat that connects to the standard toilet.
Last week Laura was driving him in the car and thought he was saying please but looked in the rear view mirror and saw him pointing up "trees, trees."
Just in the last two weeks or so he is following directions. Get a plate, throw this in the trash, get your milk, give this to Elise etc.
Russell likes to point to his eyes and say "eyes", points to his mouth and says "ahhhh", points to his nose and still says "eyes"... this week he now can identify and say both "eyes" and "nose." It is fun to ask him questions for the first time and see that he knows where his toes, hair and ears are all without prompting. What a smart feller!!
