The underwriter was sick on Tuesday so no house news. Wednesday they must have been getting their paperwork together and Thursday we heard the news. Well they didn't deny the loan but they have more hoops for us to jump through. A state certified roofing inspection, a state certified plumbing inspection, a state certified rot and drywall inspection and a state certified pest inspection. Then there was a laundry list of things they want price quotes on: appliances in substandard condition, bathroom vanity, bathroom shower enclosure, bathroom floor, smoke detectors the list goes on. Joe went on Home Depot's web site and pretty much copied and pasted items with their prices. So now all we need to do is schedule 5 or so inspections this next week.
Everyone has heard of the stages of grief: denial..... anger, acceptance. Well I'm sure there are stages of buying a bank owned home and we are in the annoying stage. The loan officer said once all complete it would be another 2-3 weeks before we knew if the loan was approved. Ugh!!
What crazy memory is going to be made today?
