Well you want the good news- our offer got accepted. Our agent told us another offer was coming in so we decided to not low ball it like we originally hoped, instead we opted for help with closing costs. She (Geri) had talked with the selling real estate agent early in the morning and just preped him by saying her clients were going to prepare an offer. He did not mention anything about an additional offer then. They again talked a few hours later (it is a bank owned home and our agent wanted her ducks in a row) and it was then she learned a 2nd offer would be coming in. That is why we decided if we really wanted the home go for it and see what happens. We learned yesterday about 3PM our offer was accepted!! We also found out the other offer was higher, (likely no help with closing costs). The bank then asked the selling agent well do want to counter with the lower offer (meaning us), he said no their agent dotted her I's and crossed her T's I want to work with them. The other agent we were told just had 6 or so months of experience and the offer was full of holes.
Rewind to 2:30PM Joe just walks into the house with mail in hand. He was denied life insurance based on his lab/ urine results. He is now thinking of all the worst possible scenarios and what disease may be lurking. He scheduled an appointment with a doctor for today to do some lab work and we will anxiously wait for the findings. He was tossing and turing in bed last night as he is really taking this hard. Praying these next set of labs will come back normal.
