Get to Work

Elise was sitting at the dining table looking at apples in the ceramic fruit holder. In it she found a straight pin and began to poke an apple. Laura was sitting at the table too, with her back turned and looked up at Elise and told her "no", to which Elise said "sharp." Yes it's sharp. Done deal, right? Laura was looking at a book and out of the corner of her eye noticed Elise picked up the straight pin again, Laura turned her head and Elise dropped the pin onto the ceramic fruit holder- it made a "ping" noise. Elise thought she was safe as it was no longer in her hands. This went on for two or three more rounds. Laura went back to reading and again Elise went to pick up the straight pin. Laura turned around faced Elise gave her the you-know-what-I-want-from-you-look and Elise said,

"Get to work." Meaning get back to reading. When you are reading and your back is turned you can't watch me. Can't you see I really want to poke the apple. She is stringing new words together practically hourly.

What a sly fox this one is.

Laura will get to clock in like Fred Flintstone next on Tuesday,
until then, Yabba-Dabba-Do!!
