Russell Update

So we went to CT on Wed. Russell did great and the staff made us feel completely at ease. Only one failed attempt at putting in an IV then the MD took a stab at it (no pun intended) and success. I was surprised to hear a Critical Care MD would be with Russell the entire time he was sedated (I give this medicine to adults all the time and it is not necessarily with a physician present- I'm sure this had to do with the age/size of the patient). He was hooked up to a heart monitor and off he went to get scanned. Two minutes later he arrived back and 10 minutes later woke up. Boy was he staggering around and he was having difficulty trying to suck his bottle. The RN said he would be wobbly for a few hours and she was right.

Thurs we got a call from the MD Dr. Christine Puig who was the ENT that ordered the CT. She wanted a call back and after playing phone tag for two days we finally talked with her today.

Friday we talked with Dr. Puig who said her anesthesiologist was not comfortable sedating little people and she wants us to see Dr. Mark Bosley of Mary Bridge. She contacted Dr. Bosley and he had an appointment available Sat (this happens to be his 3rd Sat of every month he works). We are going to meet him tomorrow at 11:30. She said it is a small cyst (medium size compared to Russell). Hopefully this can be taken care of in the next week or two. As always thank you for the well wishes and prayers for Russell.
