Driving Home
The four of us were coming home from Camano Island after a weekend of meeting new family members (Rubie and Ella) and catching up with loved ones. Elise and Russell were in their PJ's and we were in the Smokey Pt neighborhood when Elise announced she needed to go potty. Laura needed to work in the AM and just wanted to get home and was all for finding a secluded parking lot and letting her tinkle. That would not do with Joe present. He insisted on taking her in a store. The next exit had the stores of all stores- WALMART. Hey we needed milk anyways so now it made sense to let Elise potty grab the milk on the way out and be on our way. Joe told Laura how difficult it was to carry her through the store (remember she has her PJ's on) put the seat cover on the toilet and then wipe her (again without her feet touching the floor) all for the most part while Elise stood on his shoes. The 15 minute potty break made us realize we need a portable potty- no more Walmart pit stops here. Elise and Joe came back to the truck milk in hand and just as Joe began to buckle up Elise she says, "I need to go poops." Sorry kid, not this time. We think she just liked stretching and people watching. On the road again. We called her bluff no poops until the following day- at naptime. This girl is perfecting how to stall.
